We are pleased, proud and ELATED to announce that a founding surfsista is preggers! Sista Maria is expecting a little grom mid 2007! We are darn happy, and wish Maria and Mark all the best. We would love it if the darling grom receives a name starting with M as well. Like Mermaid. Or alternatively -Sandy. Shelly. Neptune. Roger. Old Salty Sea Dog?

Maria has contributed enormously to the ongoing development of surfsistas, and her preggers-gap-year from surfing will leave a big hole in out hearts and the ocean. Because of the energy and passion Maria throws into surfsistas, without her we lose our little engine. So the organizing committee has decided to put Surfsistas on hold for the rest of 2007 or thereabouts. This site will still exist, so keep sending emails to join the mailing list to be informed of the new incarnation of SSS later in 2007. There just might be a crèche.
